Resurrection Life

Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

The life of the believer in Jesus is a life of resurrection power. This life of resurrection is the very life of the Son of God that is empowered by the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit is the life-giver that brings all dead back to life.

Our God is a God of resurrection power and newness of life. We became children of God and stepped into this newness of life through the resurrection of our Lord Jesus. The Apostle Peter writes: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" (1Peter 1:3).

Our new birth started with resurrection. As well, our present life in Christ is a life of resurrection power. Should Jesus tarry and we go by way of the grave, at the last trumpet our bodies will be resurrected from the grave and we will put on immortality. Resurrection is our living hope of glory - Christ in us, the resurrected King is our hope of glory.

When Abraham beheld God, he saw this very life of resurrection. This vision of resurrection power enabled Abraham to trust God and against all Earthly hope, to hope in God. Abraham believed God, "who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did" (Romans 4:17). Beholding the God of resurrection birthed living faith in Abraham that led him to fully surrender his son of promise to God - "By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, of whom it was said, 'In Isaac your seed shall be called,' concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense" (Hebrews 11:17-19).

In Christ, we have the assurance of resurrection life and His very glory power resides in us. Resurrection life lives in us. Just as Abraham beheld the God of resurrection, we too now behold Jesus - our resurrected King. This is what strengthens our faith to believe God and against all hope to have a living hope. Today trust that you are coming up and out of every snare and set-back. The God of resurrection lives in you!
