Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
John 3:3

When we become born again we become brand new. At our new birth in Christ, we become a brand new spiritual creation. Now we are born of God, born of Light, born of Love - for God is Light and God is Love. At this spiritual birth we are launched into a brand new existence and given access to a new spiritual kingdom. We have now been transferred out of the kingdom of darkness and placed in the kingdom of Light - the kingdom of God (Col. 1:13).
Herewith lies the challenge to our outer senses: although our spirit-man knows that we have become brand new children of God, our external life normally remains the same. It is not until we start the process of the renewing of our mind by the Word of God that we begin to note a significant change in our lives. The nature of our new life in Christ is that as our minds become transformed by the Word of God, then we can start to see an outer change. Even though all things have changed in our spirit-man and have become brand new (2 Cor. 5:17), our external lives remain the same until our mind is transformed by the power of the Word of God. This mind transformation brings about a conformity to the perfect will of God in our lives. The process of the mind renewal happens by the abiding presence of the Word of God in us - that is, by the continued reading of the Bible and the meditation of the truth of the Word. The Word of God is revealed within us by the precious Holy Spirit, whom we received at our new birth. The Holy Spirit is the very breath of God that is found in the Word of God - this is His Voice. Through the reading and the meditation of the Word, we open our hearts to the Voice of God who empowers a mighty transformation to happen with-in in order to affect a transformation with-out.
The Voice of God is what brings about the change in our lives that we so desire, a change that reflects the divine reality that we now know is Truth. This process of transformation is a life-long work of the Holy Spirit within us. Therefore solely by faith and patience (Heb. 6:12) can we start walking out the divine reality that we have through our new birth. This divine reality is the life of Christ manifested outwardly so all can see and be blessed by Him in us.
Today my encouragement to you is that you continue to abide in the Word of God and to allow the abiding Holy Spirit to conform and transform you to the image of our Master Jesus. May patience have its perfect work in you so that you grow up in the wholeness of Christ, lacking nothing of that which God has granted you freely in Christ (James 1:4).
In your new life in Christ you are the light of the world (Matt. 5:14). Today know that His marvelous light shines through you in a dark world and enlightens many to the truth that is found in Christ.
