"Do Not be afraid; only believe."
Mark 5:36

Jesus always tells us "Do not be afraid; only believe." This is what He told Jairus, one of the Jewish rulers after He performed a healing miracle. Jesus was on the way to heal Jairus' gravely ill young daughter when He got intercepted by a very sickly woman. The woman's touch of faith made Jesus stop in His tracks and acknowledge that divine life flowed from Him and that her faith in Him made the woman whole. Right at that moment Jairus received bad news that his daughter was now dead,
This is how spiritual reality normally plays out. As we receive inspiration to believe God, suddenly unexpected bad news comes to derail us to take our eyes off of Jesus. The purpose of bad reports in life is to unhook us from our faith. The word states that satan always comes to steal the word of God from us (Mark 4:15). But in Jesus' lovingkindness He ministered living words to Jairus and redirected his gaze back on Himself.
This is how He always apprehends our attention and builds up our heart's persuasion - by His loving words. Faith in our heart always comes when we hear His words. We are not to depart from our closeness and ultimate oneness that we have with the Living Word. We see this in the case with Jairus. Part of the bad report that came to Jairus was to let Jesus be - to not bother the Master any further, to depart from Jesus. This is what the enemy's ultimate desire is - to take away the word of faith that is in our heart. Bad reports always communicate this to us. The lie that fuels the fear in the bad report is that even Jesus cannot fix our dead situation and so why bother to be with Jesus. This is a wicked lie.
We know from the end of this story that Jairus' daughter was resurrected from the dead - now that is a GOOD testimony! In Mark 5:34 in the words of Jesus to the sickly woman healed on the way to the Jewish ruler's house, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction”, we recognize that if Jairus had not refused fear and chosen faith, that his daughter would have stayed dead.
The reality of the born-again Christian is that the Righteous walks by faith and not by sight. The lead of the Christian is the truth of the voice of Jesus and not the clamour and noise of the external world. The Holy Spirit is given to us to lead us into God's truth and to enable us to keep our gaze on Jesus. It is a daily choice whose voice we heed to. Only the voice of Jesus carries life and builds up our faith to walk out the triumph that He has purchased for us.
Today hear His loving voice say to you: "Do not be afraid; only believe." On the road to your miracle, no matter the interceptions, keep hearing Him say to you "Do not be afraid; only believe." Jesus walks this road with you and He has completed all for you so you may only believe today!
