A New You Meditation

Updated: Apr 15, 2021

Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

1 John 3:2

Few have tapped into the transformative power of the Holy Spirit within to uncap the Living Word in us to allow His word to take root and bring forth a harvest of righteous thought. The Holy Spirit alone is able to unveil the word of God to us and to bring forth a divine transformation - to mature and train the believer of Christ in the word of righteousness so that we reflect God's greater glory here on Earth. One of the ways the Holy Spirit brings forth this transformative unveiling, an opening of sight to divine reality, is through the meditation of the truth of the word of God. This is an expression of the working power of the Holy Spirit within to bring to remembrance the words of Jesus. We yield to His working power by mulling over the word, pondering and muttering His truth within. We engage with the Holy Spirit in this most spiritual activity by disciplining our mind and focusing our thoughts purposefully on the word of God and not departing nor straying away from the truth He brings to us.

The power of the meditation of the word of God is for the purpose of divine revelation light to flood our understanding of our new-creation reality. Apostle Paul writes to Philemon "that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus" (Philemon 6). Unless we daily meditate the truth of who God says we now are, we will not know nor acknowledge every good thing that we are in Christ. This is what determines the effectiveness of our witness of the gospel of Christ. We want to bear much fruit for God's kingdom and be effective in sharing this great salvation we have in His Son Jesus.

I have put down some of my meditations that I mull over and that speak His truth to me, anchoring me in His life within me. I am born again and I have His life living in me now. I want to know Him more every day so that I can have a bold witness for the Kingdom of Light.

For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. ~ 1Corinthians 2:2

By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. ~ 1John 3:16

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. ~ 1 John 3:1

He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right [authority] to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. ~ John 1:11-13

God is Love. ~ 1John:8 & 16

We are of God. ~1John 4:6

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. ~ 2Corinthians 5:17

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. ~ 1John 5:4

You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. ~ John 15:3-5

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. ~ Colossians 3:1-4

And He [Jesus] said to them, “To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables... " ~ Mark 4:11

Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. ~ Luke 12:32

What joy His word brings to our hearts! What a thrill of unveiled divine reality that we are now partakers of. You can meditate the above truth with me too and even ask the Holy Spirit to lead you and give you further supply of living truth. Our new covenant in Christ is established on better living promises and we are to meditate His life-giving words. The Apostle Paul encouraged the Philippians: "whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things" (Phil. 4:8). This was the manner of Paul as he stated that he himself had not yet fully attained to this Christ reality but pressed to attain that which Christ Jesus had laid hold of him for (Phil. 3:12-14).
