You Are Hid in Him So That He Be Seen In You

Updated: Apr 22, 2021

For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Colossians 3:3

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16

The wisdom and wonder of our salvation is truly outstanding. In the wisdom of God's divine purpose, He made us to partake of the body of Christ so that Christ be seen through us - His body on Earth now. This is the mystery of the universe that is now disclosed in Christ. Before the foundation of the world, God chose to manifest His Son through His body on Earth - that Christ in us is the hope of glory and in turn Christ in us is the glorious hope of the world.

The unveiling of the Christ-nature within us is the ultimate demonstration of the love of God towards the world. The love of God is only found in Christ. His love is freedom of acceptance and glorification. It is this liberating divine love that the whole Earth is groaning for - to be brought into the freedom of His love that is in the sons of God (Romans 8:19-22). By the power of the Holy Spirit, Christ is still walking Earth today through the body of Christ on Earth. We are now the light of the world.

This is the mystery that has been hidden in God from the beginning of the ages - that we be hid in Christ so that Christ be revealed through us to the world! God used the Apostle Paul to mightily open up and reveal to us the message of this divine mystery.

Colossians 1:26-28

... I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 3:8-13

To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

This is why the writer of the book of Hebrews urges us to heed the message of Christ and not to neglect so great a salvation (Heb. 2:1-4). God has offered the body of His beloved Son as a sacrifice for our life - crucified for us. Through His resurrection we together with the Son have been raised up into newness of life - in His now living body. In His death we were hid so that in His life we are now revealed to the world as the sons of God. Even as Christ is unveiled in us through the renewing of our mind, His body is in turn being revealed to the world through us. His body is the carrier of the message of reconciliation with God because it was only through His body on the cross that we were reconciled to God. His body paid the price and penalty of sin - separation from God, so that now His body on Earth demonstrates the love of God. Love crucified the body of Jesus so there be no more separation between God and man. The crucified body of Jesus has reconciled us to God and so now we have peace with God as the body of His beloved Christ on Earth (Ephesians 2:14-18).

Today be found hid in Christ so that He alone be seen and lifted up in you - drawing all men to Himself!
