Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
John 11:25,26

Jesus the Christ is the only one to ever make the audacious statement that He is the Resurrection and the Life. Not only was He the only one with that claim, but He also demonstrated it by raising people from the dead and ultimately through His own resurrection from the dead. Now His church, which is His body on Earth, lives life before the Resurrection and the Life Himself - the Lord Jesus Christ, the living Christ, our Messiah.
During the Passover season, we often ponder on the message of resurrection as we corporately celebrate Resurrection Sunday - Christ's triumphant defeat over death, hell and the grave by rising again on the third day after His crucifixion. But not as often do we meditate that when He was raised back to life, we together with Him were raised up into newness of life; that even when we were dead in trespasses, God made us alive together with Christ by raising us up together with Him. God made us to sit together in the heavenly in Christ Jesus [Ephesians 2:5,6]. Therefore, according to the Word of God, we not only live life before the Resurrection and the Life, but now we live IN the Resurrection and IN the Life.
This is the liberty that we have in Christ - to be children of resurrection - to be born again through the indestructible seed of the Word of God. This infallible and imperishable Word of God is the living Christ - the Word that was with God in the very beginning - the very Word that is God Himself [1 Peter 1:23, John 1:1]. The Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Resurrection and the Life, now lives in us and we live His life in Him.
What a powerful reality this is! We who are born again, are hid with Christ in God (Col. 3:3) and we live a divine resurrection life, a life from above. This life is indestructible and is an immortal life. We have been granted this eternal life in Christ, our hope of glory, so that we can now live the remainder of our days on Earth in the dominion of His resurrection life. Furthermore, we also have a glorious assurance that Heaven is our destination and home!
The way we appropriate this divine life is by believing the words of Jesus, the Word of God. The question posed in our opening verse in John 11:26 is not only given to Martha, but to us as well. Do we in the body of Christ have a full persuasion of belief that He is the Resurrection and the Life? We want our hearts to be fully persuaded by this so that we can freely respond back: "Yes Lord, I believe!".
This divine persuasion gives us full confidence to walk in the dominion of His life. In John 1:18, Jesus says, "I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.". Jesus Christ in us is our assurance that death, hell and the grave have no more power over us and that we now live and rule in Him forevermore.
Jesus Christ is Lord of all and the life that we now live in the body here on Earth is in His resurrection and in His life! Walk in the dominion of His indestructible life and be a bold ambassador for the living Christ!
