The Exalted Life

And He said to them, “You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”

John 10:23,24

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

1Peter 5:6,7

The life of God is the exalted life of Christ. It is the very life of love, for God so loved us that He sent His Son to die for us so that we can now live a new life through Him. This new life in Christ is a life that is born from above and is above all - far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come (Ephesians 1:21).

When we cast the cares that the enemy sends our way and the world so liberally presents to us - we are denying our earthly carnal life, taking up our cross and living our new life in Christ. This is the exaltation that God has for us - in the rising of Jesus we too have been raised together with Him. Therefore we now are like Him, not earthly but are from Heaven (1Corinthians 15:47). Through our new spiritual birth, we are citizens of Heaven and Christ's ambassadors here on Earth.

Our new creation man is made in His image, in true righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:24). This is why the forsaking of our old life is a glory experience. Without denying the old man we can not experience the new life of the born again man. Jesus said, "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it." (Luke 9:24). The life of the Christian looks like an outer perishing so that the hidden man of the heart be renewed day by day and be transformed into a greater expression of our glorious Jesus. This is the exalted life.

Today you have been given the right in Christ to live this exalted life.

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.

Romans 8:18,19
