The Blessed Life In Christ

The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green,

Psalm 92:12-14 NIV

...whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.

Psalm 1:2,3 NIV

...Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

Ephesians 3:17 NLT

Today I want to encourage you to consider anew and afresh your dwelling place - your blessed abode in Christ. Christ is now your house and your Heavenly address. In your new creation life, Christ has become the blessed house you live in - having been grafted into His body by faith. Your abiding in Christ has enabled you to become a partaker, a sharer, a partner of His divine life and nature. This rooting in Christ is the place from which we flourish and prosper in His divine life.

Our new dwelling place has in turn allowed us to become God's house. Christ our Lord resides in us and as we firmly hold onto His life, we are now His abode as well - "...Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end (Heb.3:6). The way we hold firm to the end is by holding firmly to His Word. The Word fully expresses the blessed Christ life.

We are born again by the imperishable seed of the Word of God. Thus through the Word our roots are strengthened, as we gain understanding of the love of God that Christ is to us. Our rooting in the love of God is our assured place of strength and flourishing growth. The strength of this rooting is Christ Himself and we partner with Him in this rooting by holding onto Him [...holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God (Col. 2:19)].

Today meditate your dwelling place, which is your source of life and strength. Be strengthened to know that the blessed divine life flows from Christ alone. This blessed life flow is from our position, our abiding, our grafting in Christ, the tree of Life. In John 15:4,5 Jesus tells us:

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

Be encouraged in your day by knowing that Christ is your dwelling place. Have great confidence that He has you as you have Him and live out His blessed life today!
