But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Romans 3:21-26
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.
Romans 3:28
But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:
“Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered; Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.”
Romans 4:5-8
But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
Philippians 3:7-9
As Christians our right-standing with God is based on the blood of Jesus and faith in the finished work of Christ. Our salvation is by grace through faith and not by what we can earn with God by being a good Christian. Without the propitiation of Christ's sacrifice on the cross we can never be made right in the sight of God. Now that we believe what Jesus has done for us, God has justified us by our faith in Jesus.
This revelation of righteousness by faith is a core revelation of our Christian salvation. It is through this revelation that we develop a righteousness consciousness and stop struggling with guilt and condemnation. The strength of this Christian persuasion enables us to walk in the freedom of His loving acceptance in Christ. This is where we know that we are no longer condemned by God, falling short of His glory. Now because of what Jesus has completed for us we have been raised into newness of life - raised into His glorious righteous life.
I have attached a video excerpt from a recent teaching I did Just Like Jesus.
Be blessed in living this new life in Christ, a life of rightness before God!
