Mind Alive

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

2Timothy 1:7

... But we have the mind of Christ.

1Corinthians 2:16

The fight of faith looks like a fight over your mind. The ground you gain in walking out the mind of Christ, through the renewal of your mind by the Word of God, is the level of victory that you will walk in on Earth. Only the mind of Christ - through the incorruptible seed of God's Word planted in your heart can displace the carnal thought-ways that lead to destruction in one's life. The mind of Christ is a mind of life and dominion - this is the mind of the overcomer.

As born again Christians we have the full resource to ensure that we walk in the dominion of the mind of Christ. We have the Holy Spirit. In the Holy Spirit are mighty God-weapons that enable us to pull down all the strongholds of the carnal mind. The key to the success of these God given weapons is the use of them. Many Christian believers have resigned to the ways of the world and have become complacent in using their spiritual weaponry.

We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.

2Corinthians 10:4 NLT

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Romans 14:17 KJV

The weaponry of the Holy Spirit is righteousness, peace and joy. These spiritual forces of divine life are of the kingdom of God, which is not of flesh and blood. Therefore the mind of Christ is not of the carnal world. We can not walk as carnal Christians and expect to walk in the victory of the divine mind that we have access to in Christ. Reasoning as mere men is a sure way to live life defeated and under worldly circumstances.

Do not become complacent and confident in the ways that are common to man, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Conform to Christ. Exercise your Christian rights by using all that God has given us in Christ. Yield to the divine life within you and thus walk in the full armor of God. The way you do that is by sitting before the Word of God and meditating the truth of the verses that the Holy Spirit is quickening to you. Meditate that in Christ you have been made new and righteous in God's sight by the blood of Jesus, think on Christ the Prince of Peace that now resides in you. The joy of the completed work of your salvation will strengthen you to continue to abide in Him and His Word. This allows you to subdue the rebellious carnal mind that is in opposition to the mind of Christ.

... “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

Luke 17:20,21 NKJV

The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

Romans 13:12-14 NKJV

But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.

When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. For,

“Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?”

But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.

1Corinthians 2:10-16 NLT

Be made alive in your mind by putting on the mind of Christ. The mind of Christ is a mind alive to God - a mind ablaze with the truth of the Word of God.
