Light Be!

Updated: Nov 17, 2020

...God saith, 'Let light be;' and light is.

Genesis 1:3 YLT

As God spoke, so it was and so it is and so it will always be. The Word of God lives and abides forever and it has no variation nor shadow of turning. When God spoke "...light be", He released the power of His Word to abide on Earth - for His Word to indwell the Earth and to subdue it, to dominate and replenish it. God's Word brought light out of darkness and established order out of chaos.

The Word of God is the living expression of God, that carries the life of God. The eternal life of God that is encapsulated in the Word of God is the Word of Dominion that God released over Adam when He made him and blessed him. God's Word carries the power to be executed exactly as spoken - God speaks into existence things that be not, and His Word conforms all things to His spoken purpose.

The apostle Paul writes, "For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (2 Cor. 4:6 ESV). When God commanded light to be, He declared the coming of His Son Jesus, who is the Word of God and is God incarnate. The Lord knew that Adam would be ensnared by sin and would become separated from His love. Therefore in His divine love, the Lord made provision for the ultimate atoning love sacrifice of His Son and the resurrection of His body, which is His church. Jesus, The Word of God, is the provision of God, for He is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, predestined to come into the world and to bring many sons back to the glory of God (Rev. 13:8, Eph. 1:3-6, Rom. 8:28-30, Heb. 2:10).

When God spoke "Let light be", His voice made full provision for The Word of God to be heard and to be received and to enlighten the hearts of men by dispelling all binding darkness. The receiving of this light brought forth our deliverance from darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of light, the kingdom of the Son whom He loves.

Now in the body of Christ, we are a reflection and an instrumentation of His Word. The body of Christ has been raised into newness of life and His Word within us is our mandate of Dominion - to be fruitful, to multiply, to fill the Earth and to subdue it for the kingdom of God. The body of Christ is empowered and enabled by God through His Word to execute the council of the will of God here on Earth and to push back forces of darkness that devise schemes to block and hinder the advancement of the kingdom of light.

We are the sons of the light and of the day and we are to work while it is still day. It is high time that we now in the body of Christ awake from slumber and sleep and be found labouring in God's field, His vineyard - advancing His kingdom on Earth. Our Master is soon returning and we will all, with unveiled faces, behold Him and will give an account of our deeds done in the body.

From the very beginning, at God's pronouncement of "...light be" the plan of salvation was established and completed. Consequently, as Jesus walked out a finished work we too now in the body of Christ are walking out a finished Light work. Therefore, let us be found with our hands to the plow, fit for His service - to be the light of the world, a city set up on a hill, illuminating this world with the light of Christ, showing the way of our God - Jesus, The Word of God!
