Be In Faith And Waver Not

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

1Corinthians 15:58 NKJV

Then Elijah stood in front of them and said, “How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!” But the people were completely silent.

1Kings 18:21 NLT

And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah’s womb. Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God.

Romans 4:19,20 NLT

A strong persuasion of faith is the place of divine assurance of that which God has said that it is so. In faith there is no wavering where the Word of God is concerned. Faith does not oscillate between two opinions. Actually faith does not consider any opinion, but only considers the Word of God (Romans 10:17).

As Christians we are to diligently abide in the Word of God by meditating the truth of His Word. This is how we grow a strong faith and bring about a maturity to our Christian walk. Matured faith, based on the truth of the Word of God keeps us stable in tumultuous times. Only a steadfast faith that refuses to be moved by what is seen in the world keeps us steadily walking in the will of God during times of great shaking and quaking. A matured faith is a steadfast gaze on Jesus that anchors us in His Word. Only by faith do we understand the age we are living in (Hebrews 11:3).

Given the flow of dissipation in these days - where popular perception, thought trends and actions are shifting like never before, veering away from the standard of righteousness that we find in the Word - we are to be purposeful in our habitation in the truth of the Bible. Without an anchoring in the Word of God by faith we will be tossed like billowing waves on the ocean top and will be highly susceptible to deception.

Casualness in the Word of God causes apathy to arise in our hearts towards our God. This is what ultimately makes a Christian waver and doubt God and His promises. Therefore now more than ever ground yourself in the Word. Do not let your eyes depart from the truth of the Bible and open your ears to the voice of the Holy Spirit. This is how you incline your heart to God and become a doer of His Word, which makes you a strong Christian.

Humble yourself again to God and allow His Word to have supremacy in your life and understanding. Let the Word be the light that guides you in all decisions. Do not rely on your carnal knowledge. As you mature in faith, by being grounded in the Word, you are easily maneuvered by the Holy Spirit in the perfect lead for your life.

Trust God's Word and waver not at His promises towards you. Be strong in faith, fully persuaded by the Word and bring glory to our God.
