Be Believing

For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.

...“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Acts 16:31

Then He [Jesus] said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”

And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

The fight of faith is a fight of what one believes. We all have to come back to the basics of Christianity by asking ourselves: has God said and do we believe what God has said? In believing what God has said, do we live above the present circumstance and Earthly experience? The way we know how purely we believe God and His Word is by the way we walk in life. Do we carry a confidence that all things are working for our good or do we worry about our today and our tomorrow?

It is good to be honest with yourself and judge whether the way you live life matches with what you know God has said. Do you trust His Word and walk unmoved by the affairs of the world? Or do you succumb to the pressures of the world by taking the cares of the world and thus choke off the power of the Word of God in your life?

As Christians we stand on the solid foundation of the Word of God by doing what the Word has instructed us to do - to have faith in God and in His Word. We are not to waver at the promises of God through unbelief. We please God by being fully persuaded by what He says and this persuasion leads to a confident walk, a walk that reflects a trust towards God.

Unfortunately many do not know God's Word because they do not read His Word. Without the reading of the Word of God we will have limited or skewed understanding of His sayings. His Word is life to us. The Bible is not a book of religious do's and don't do's but a life instruction to live in the freedom of God's love, free from the bondage of sin and unbelief.

Today come back to the treasure of His Word and read His life expression through spiritual words. This is what will cause you to be believing and not unbelieving. Believing faith comes by the hearing of the Word of God (Romans 10:17). As you open your heart to God when you read His Word, you are allowing His truth to set you free in life!
