"... your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith ..."
1 Peter 5:8,9

To outlast. To withstand and to overcome. To make it to the end - to press through and to finish strong! How very rewarding that thought is and now this is the ultimate reality that we have in our new life in Christ. It is liberating to know that in our Christian walk, we are built strong by the word of truth and the might of the Holy Spirit. Due to His mighty strength in us, endurance is part of our walk, and therefore regardless of the persecutions and the trials that we face, we are made to overcome them all because we are now born of God (1 John 5:4).
The Body of Christ on Earth is a mighty fortress for our God, a living temple of glory light, a temple not built with human hands but formed by God. We are built on the solid rock of the Word of God and perfectly equipped to gracefully endure and withstand all the storms of life. Instead of cowering in fear and hiding, we are made to be a strong beacon of light, illuminating the way to God through the Lord Jesus Christ and advancing the kingdom of Light on Earth.
As we mature in our Christian walk and allow the Word of Christ to dwell in us richly, we become cognizant of the purpose of all opposition. Opposition, when faced in Christ, is intended to mature our spiritual walk and to complete our understanding of our salvation - so that we fully know that we lack nothing in Christ (Rom. 4:3-4, James 1:2-4). When we submit to the Word of God, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, we resist all adversity. As we do so, we realize that in Christ we have all spiritual wisdom and have been sanctified to have a right standing with God (1 Cor. 1:30). This silences all condemnation and every evil work.
As we become fortified in our spirit man with the word of truth, allowing the strengthening of the Christ-life within us, we become a mighty rescue tower for multitudes to run to and to be safe. Even as the Christ-seed of the Word of God grows into full maturity within us, we are being transformed into a tree of life - that now the body of Christ be a great tree whose branches nest the birds of the air. In the body of Christ, of whom we are members individually, we are to bear the image of the Heavenly man, having now become a life giving spirit, as He is (1 Cor. 15:45-49). We thus carry out His ministry of reconciliation to bring many safely back to God (2 Cor. 5:17-21).
In the book of Revelation, the apostle John writes the words of our Christ, "...hold fast what you have till I come. And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations" (Rev. 2:25,26). Therefore run your life-race with endurance and hold fast to the word of truth to the very end. Overcome all opposition and be found standing in faith for your Master Jesus, solidly perched on His rock as a demonstration of His Life and His Glory strength!
