By faith he [Moses} forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.
Hebrews 11:27
While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal
2 Corinthians 4:18.
The walk of faith is the walk of our gaze. What a statement! Can our gaze walk? Yes our gaze can walk - we can make our gaze go to God or we can make our gaze walk away from God. The way we make our gaze stay or stray is through strength of focus. A focused gaze gets ones attention like a firm handshake does - it is purposeful and not casual. A firm and focused gaze is a purposeful gaze - it gives God all its attention.
In the same manner that a firm handshake communicates deliberation, a firm gaze unto God communicates intention. The intentionality and strength of our gaze determines how we run this glory race - whether we maintain a strong faith run or stay entangled in the affairs of the world and lag behind. This is why the author of Hebrews exhorts us to run our race with endurance, looking unto Jesus (Heb.11:1,2). The steadfastness of our gaze on this invisible reality marks our assigned by God race with triumph.

It was Moses' endurance of gaze - to see Him who is invisible - that enabled him to cast off the weight of Egypt and to not succumb to Pharaoh's wrath. This too is what enables us in the body of Christ to forsake the worldly life and to escape the wrath of that which rules this worldly life - the flesh and the devil. Even though God protected Moses at birth from death, Moses still had to keep his gaze firm on the one who preserved his life and called him to be a deliverer to His people. Just as Moses had to walk by faith and keep a firm gaze on God, we too now walk by faith and look at the unseen and eternal, not looking at the natural and temporal.
By looking unto Him, who is invisible, we engage with the plan and purpose of God for our lives and it propels us forward in God. A casualness of glance, on the other hand, can hinder the plans and callings of God. That is why the system of the world wants us captivated by distractions, through many cares and weighted burdens, so that only occasionally do we give God our utmost attention. It is time to refocus our gaze back on God and to become fully attentive to the things of His kingdom which are unseen and eternal. Let us be found hearing His voice and attending to Him as Mary was before Him.
This is the hour to be singular in sight and intentional in gaze toward God - just like a firm handshake with a business partner - because we are God's co-laborers and His fellow associates on Earth. God has entrusted us with His kingdom expansion here and now. We want to be about His kingdom business until He comes, and to be found faithful to the end. The firmness of our gaze on Him guarantees that we run this race of faith successfully unto our God.
